Q4 Finish-a-long Goals

For quarter 4, I would really like to get some of my UFO’s off this list.

#1 & #2 Baby Quilts - will be to finish the last of the baby quilts.  I have two to make for my cousin who is expecting twins in November/December.  I will be using the Jaybird Quilts Hugs & Kisses pattern with a Red, White and Blue jelly roll that I purchased a few years ago.

#3 Zig Zag - Number 3 on my list is a quilt for a good friend of mine.  He told me he would like a blue and gray quilt and it wasn’t till I was half way done with the top that I realized I was making a Detroit Lions quilt, basically, when I am a huge Bears fan.  Oh well, he loves the top so far, so this just needs to be quilted, bound and labeled.

#4 Leaf quilt - I made some progress in 3rd quarter, and decided it would be a twin sized quilt, however it was not finished.  I am hoping to finish the top at retreat in a week and a half.  Then I will just need to quilt, bind, and label it.

#5 Dr. Who – So yes, this has been on my list for a long time.  And yes it is overdue for being complete.  Hopefully it will get done this quarter.

#6 Winter quilt - hand stitched.  I started this project at the beginning of 2015 when I was traveling for 7 weeks for work.  I have about 5 or 6 of the 12 (I believe) stitching pieces done.  I would love to get the rest of them done and sewn up into the quilt.

#7 Wall Hanging: Totem Poles – need to finish the appliqué

#8 Grandmother's flower garden – Not sure how this will end up looking….but I want it finished and off the list.

#9 Baby Quilt - So I just found out yesterday that my cousin is prego with her first child.  Of course this baby will need a quilt.  So I will be making a baby quilt from on of the Jaybird quilt patterns in Rainbow colors.

Q3 Finish-a-long Summary

Now that I am back to quilting for the 3rd quarter of this year, I have been busy!  You can find my goals for the quarter on my previous post.

Here is where I stand at the end of the quarter:

#1 Snack Time baby quilt - This quilt needs to be quilted, bound and labeled.
First up on the list was Snack Time, a pattern by Jaybird quilts.  This quilt was for my friend’s baby, and has been completed!  It was a gifted a bit after the arrival of the baby.

#2 Chevron baby quilt - This quilt needs to be quilted, bound and labeled.
Next on the list was Giggles, a chevron pattern by Jaybird quilts.  This quilt was for my cousin’s baby, and has been completed!  It was really late arriving at my cousin’s house, but luckily the baby is none the wiser.

#3 Triangle baby quilt - This quilt needs to be quilted, bound and labeled.
The third item on my list was the Triangle baby quilt named Lotus, a pattern by Jaybird quilts.  Have you noticed yet that I like LOVE the Jaybird Quilt patterns?  If you have never heard of here patterns before you have to check them out.  Yes, there are special rulers, but they are used in tons of quilts and are well worth the investment!  This quilt has been completed and mailed off to my cousin’s baby.

Not sure if you have noticed buy I have a lot of baby quilts that I have been making.  The Lotus quilt makes for 6 completed baby quilts this year for family (one friend that is basically family)!  Those 6 quilts don’t include the two for a cousin who is due with Twin’s in the November/December timeframe, and another cousin (who I don’t talk to) who had her baby in September (not sure if I will make a quilt yet….so short on time).

Anyway, back to my quarter goals.  Here are the other quilts I said I would get done this quarter.  Unfortunately they are not complete.

#4 Leaf wall hanging or quilt - I made some progress this quarter, and decided it would be a twin sized quilt.  However it still needs to be finished.

#5 Dr. Who - I have been bad with my Dr. Who quilt.  It has not been touched in months and is sitting quietly in the closet waiting to be worked on.  Hopefully I can find some time to dedicate to this quilt.

#6
Grandmother's flower garden – Need to decide on a design....or make more flowers

#7 Wall Hanging: Totem Poles – need to finish the appliqué
