FAL 2019 Q1 - Goals

New year, and a few new goals for 2019, since I was able to get quite a few finished in Q4 of 2018.  I am hoping to not add too many to the list, as I really want to make some of these ones, that I already have all of the supplies for.

1. Elephant - Violet Craft - I have the fabric and have started sewing this one.

2. 2018 Block of the Month (BOM) by Quilt Addicts Anonymous - I have the top together now, but it needs to be quilted and bound.

3. More baby hats from this yarn

5. Crocheted temperature blanket - I am a bit behind, but am making progress.  This won't be finished this quarter, but I want to keep track of it.

6. Sweater out of this fabric -  I have the fabric, and will use one of the Annelaine patterns I have, probably the coffee and tea pattern.

7. Sweater out of this fabric -  I have the fabric, and will use one of the Annelaine patterns I have, probably the coffee and tea pattern.

15. Zebra Head- Have the pattern and the fabrics will be pulled as I go from my stash.

16. Giraffe - Violet Craft - I have the pattern and fabrics (Cherrywood of course) all ready to go, but am waiting till I finish the Elephant to start this one.

17. Mountains - Violet Craft - I bought the pattern this summer when in the Seattle area and can't wait to make this one.  It may even get finished before the Giraffe.  Can you tell I am really liking Violet Craft's patterns.

18. Baby Hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats depending on what pattern I use).
19. Baby Hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats depending on what pattern I use).
20. Baby Hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats depending on what pattern I use).

27. Jelly Roll Rug out of this jelly roll.  I am addicted after taking a class at Quilt Addicts Anonymous in December.

28. Jelly Roll Rug out of this jelly roll.

29.Set Sail by Jaybird Quilts  - I really need to finish this one soon, as the baby is due before too long.

30.Ribbon Candy by Jaybird Quilts - I have the blocks done, just need to put them together, quilt and label.

31.Good Fortune mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter - I have all of the sub pieces done and then got an ear infection, so once I am feeling better I can't wait to start assembling.

Mid March I am at Quilt retreat for 5 days.  Here are the projects I plan to complete from the new Jaybird Quilts patterns I just got!  Thanks to my friend at Quilt Addicts Anonymous I was able to order some of the patterns I was missing from my collection.

33. Lucky Charm - Using scraps from my stash.

34 - Mini Tasty using Rainbow fabric from my stash.

35. Nova - using Rainbow fabric from my stash

36. Jawbreaker - from my scraps of rainbow stash.

37. Biscuit - I will use scraps from my stash to make me a new pin cushion.

There is a glimmer of hope that these will get done this quarter….if I try really hard:

38. Grandmother's Flower Garden (Queen) - This is my ongoing handwork project.  I think I still have quite a few more to make.

39. Pixelated Wolf Quilt - I still really like this wolf, but it is slow moving due to the number of triangles per row, and not having a place to lay the whole thing out.

And that is another long quarter list….but here in the Midwest it is winter which means  means more time inside and only minimal time outside.  Once again I am hoping to work on the newborn hats while my son is at cub scouts, and while in waiting rooms.  I am hoping to finish at least 12-15 per quarter in 2019 to donate to the University of Iowa hospital.  They need approx. 2000 hats a year.

Can't wait to see everyone else's lists and finishes for the new year.

Q4 FAL #7 Grey Sweater finished

I finished another item on my Finish-a-long list!

Here is my Grey Sweater - Number 7 from my list.  It's not 100% perfect, but I am getting better with my garments.

FAL Q4 - finish #3 Cookie Cutter

My third goal for Q4 was to make the Jaybird Quilts Cookie Cutter quilt out of a pack of fall fabrics.  In, I believe 2017, I won a gift certificate through this Finish-a-long (really wish I could remember from which shop) and I paid a bit extra to up the yardage amount.

I loved how this turned out, until I washed it.  I don't have a full photo of it, because it has spent the last 4 days wet, in the bathtub and washing machine.

I am so sad - and have been trying all sorts of things to try to get the bleeding out.  I have never had an issue with fabrics like this.  It was the backing that bled.

FAL hosts - If you need a full shot for it to count let me know and I'll try to get one - it just weighs about 30 lbs, as it's soaking wet.

Super sad.

Q4 FAL - finish #8 Green Stripped Sweater

Another finish for Q4 - I am on a roll.  Here is my green sweater.  I love it and got complements on it at work.  I may shorten the sleeves some, as they are a bit long.  But this sweater turned out really good.

This was number 8 on my Goals list.
