Here is the cutting I did get done.
Instead of working on the mystery, I was working on this Daschound wall hanging for a holiday swap at my local quilt shop.

The cutting and cutting! And that Dachshund is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think he turned out cute.
DeleteAll that cutting! I got tired of doing it and went on to sewing; I had 56 units when I ran out of the wing triangles. Good luck with making these units; if you want an easier method check my post (#2) for links to two tutorial posts.
ReplyDeleteI haven't minded the cutting so far. Will probably start sewing tonight. Although I really should be wrapping Christmas presents.
DeleteNow comes the easy part, sewing them. I kept having to cut more triangles, I guess I mis counted. Oh, your pooch is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWell, on my second version I decided to cut way more triangles than I needed. Not sure how I got off by at least 75-100 triangles.
DeleteSewing these units gets fast, but pressing clue #3 was a nightmare for me as I kept distorting the diamonds. Good luck, your colors are awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe ironing of clue three got me as well. For my second version of the quilt I have skipped past clue 3 and am doing the other clues first. Now that the final layout is out I will probably make all of the main blocks and then go back and make the sashing, or I may change up the sashing. Clue #3 was not fun at all for me.
