FAL - Q2 Goals

Here are my goals for Q2 of the finish a long.

1. Weaving with Diving board fabric - This project needs to be quilted and bound on my home machine.  I plan to make this a mini to hang on the wall.  Right now all of my mini's and small quilts are in a cabinet, but I would like to get the hung up on the wall above my staircase in my quilting room.  It's a large wall space that I can't easily get to but I found a long wire at Ikea that is meant to display things and can hold up to 175 lbs (if I recall correctly).  I think it would look neat to have that strung across the wall.

2. Bonnie Hunter 2017 Mystery - Orange & Bright Blue - This one I hoped to have done in Q1, but due to some issues when I went to quilt (owners child got sick, then needle fell out and we needed maintenance to dig out the tip of the needle) I was not able to get it in.  Life happens and I'm not in a big hurry for this one, so it will hopefully get done in Q2.

3. Star out of Dot fabric - QAA kit - This quilt top was so fun and easy to put together.  I need to figure out what fabric to put on the back of it, then it just needs to be quilt and bound.

4.Pink & Grey Baby Quilt - I decided on a whim one day that I wanted an easy project.  I pulled out one of my friends patterns, and quickly realized I needed a jelly roll to do the quilt.  So I did a modified version with 5 inch square bundles I had.  I made the lap quilt first and then made this baby quilt from the leftovers.

5. Pink & Grey Lap Quilt - This is the lap quilt I made spur of the moment.  It needs to be quilted and bound.

6. Elephant - Violet Craft - I got the fabric in for this one and started it, then stopped as I didn't like two of the colors I picked out.  So I have reprinted those pages that I had made and have the new fabric ready to go.  I just have to get in the mood to paper piece.

7. Ortiz baby quilt
8. Eickhoff baby quilt
9. Wulf baby quilt
So these next three quilts #7, #8, and #9, I haven't fully decided upon which quilt will be for which baby.  I picked three jaybird patterns I had not made before.  The three patterns I picked are Fast Forward, Tiny Dancer, and Trail Mix.

10. Joshua - Full Size quilt (Red, Grey, Black) - So my nephew got a new bed a couple of months ago, and he needs a quilt that fits his Full Size bed.  His mom also requested that it not be related to his current interests, so that he can grow with the quilt.  So I asked him what his favorite color was, red.  So he has agreed upon a red, grey and black quilt.  I drew out a design based on a couple of ideas I had.

11. Unicorn Mini Quilt - Quilt Addicts Anonymous got this pattern into their shop and before I could get there and purchase it, they were sold out.  So they ordered more.  I want to make this cute pattern to add to my mini wall!

12.Dress from Camo/rose fabric - So my sister is trying to get me into making garments.  I have made three sweaters, two of which fit!  So this is the next garment on the list.

13. Sweater from light weight grey sweater knit - Then I plan to make a sweater out of this.

14. Shirt from Teal sparkly fabric - And a shirt out of this.

15. Shirt from Black & Blue fabric - Then I'll make a shirt out of this.

16.Cookie Cutter (Queen sized) – When I made the baby sized version, I realized that I have some fall fabrics that are beautiful, and would great in the Cookie Cutter pattern.  I just need to find a neutral and cut into the fabrics.

17. Running Zebra - Paper pieced - I won this pattern last year as part of the QAL and thought it would be really fun to make.

18. Zebra Head- I won this pattern last year as part of the QAL and thought it would be really fun to make.

19. Pixelated Wolf Quilt - I still really like this wolf, but it is slow moving due to the number of triangles per row, and not having a place to lay the whole thing out.

20. Giraffe - Violet Craft - Once the Elephant is done I plan to start on my Giraffe.  Before you know it I am going to have a whole zoo.  I have the pattern already and have the fabric picked out from Cherrywood fabrics, I just need to call them and purchase it.

21. Grandmother's Flower Garden (Queen) - This is my ongoing handwork project.  I think I still have quite a few more to make.  But I am traveling some this summer, so I hope to take it with me on the plane and to my sisters for in the evenings.

22. I still need to also finish the binding on my baby quilt grandmother's flower garden.  It's a baby present and the baby will be here in August, and I will be seeing the expecting Mom in June.  So this will get done, even if I am sewing the binding and label on during the flight to see them.

23. 2018 Block of the Month (BOM) - This one won't be completed in Q2 - but I don't want to lose track of it.  This is my Block of the Month project for the year.  The pattern is Dimensions by Quilt Addicts Anonymous.

FAL18 Q1 - Kaleidoscope

The second quilt I finished this week was Kaleidoscope (pattern by Quilt Addict Anonymous).  Starting in 2016 I began participating in one Block of the Month project for the year.  This quilt was my 2017 BOM.  I am now working on a BOM for 2018 that is also by Quilt Addicts Anonymous.  I like to finish things, so it is hard to only do one set of blocks a month.

Here is my finished Kaleidoscope quilt.
