Q1 Finish - #12 - Darth Vader quilt

This quilt was made for my Nephew's 6th birthday.  It may look just like a quilt I completed last year, and that's because it is the exact same panel, I made for my son's birthday.  When my son opened his quilt last year I could tell that my nephew really liked the quilt and was possibly a bit jealous of it. As such I started hunting for another kit...and couldn't find one.  Fast forward to quilt retreat in October, and a shop owner who was attending showed the panel she completed, and I asked if she knew where I could find it for sale, and she said she had 2 left in stock.

I purchased one right then and there, and she mailed the kit a few days later.

I did use a different backing and binding on this one, as my son was really concerned they may mix them up (even though the labels have their names).

  1. Your quilt has a wonderful story. I am so glad you found the kit for your nephew. And Birthdays are great for helping finish projects! Good luck if you are continuing in Q2.

    1. Yes, I am continuing in Q2. I have found over the past couple of years that the Finish-a-long is a good motivator for me to finish my projects. I think I am up to 5-6 tops that just need to be quilted and bound during Q2.

    1. Thanks Jess. You may still be able to find the kit in shops, but I know it was really difficult for me to find online and in the IL/IA area.
