FAL - Q4 Goals

I am hoping to finish more things off of my goals list this quarter than last, as I ended up having knee issues and surgery in the middle of the summer, which resulted in me having to cancel my quilting appointments.  Now that I am back into the swing of things I can get back to sewing and quilting.

You may notice I have also branched out more lately.  Last quarter I started to add in some wearables.  This is my sister's doing…she has gotten me into making Shirts, Dresses and Sweaters.  I wear sweaters most days of the work week because my office is cold.  This quarter you may also notice that I have added crochet to my list, this is due to being laid up with my surgery this summer and really wanting to finish a hat I started in 2015 (which looked like a wavy coaster).  I finished that hat, and it was too small, so I gave it to my niece and proceeded to make more hats for me, my son, my other niece, my newborn nephew, and a couple of duds (they don't fit me or my son, so I will give them away…they will fit someone).  My friends then got me into making newborn hats for one of the semi-local hospitals.  I plan to continue making them as they are fun to make and donate.  Because the hats are small I have lumped them into groups of 2-3 hats out of the same yarn below, as that would be the equivalent of an adult hat.

First up on my list are the quilts that just need to be quilted, bound and labeled:

1. Star out of Dot fabric - QAA kit

2. Joshua - Full Size quilt (Red, Grey, Black)

3.Cookie Cutter (Queen sized)

4.Unicorn Mini Quilt - will be quilted on my home machine.

5. Next up on the list are the projects I have started but not yet finished, these are in different stages:
Elephant - Violet Craft - I have the fabric and have started sewing this one.

6. 2018 Block of the Month (BOM) by Quilt Addicts Anonymous - I am a couple months behind on this one due to my surgery, but I think I have 5/11 months complete.

7. Sweater #1: from light weight grey sweater knit - I have the pattern and fabric, just need to make it

8.Sweater #2:

9. Sweater #3: Out of this pink fabric.

10. Shirt from Teal sparkly fabric - I have the pattern and fabric, just need to make it

11. Crocheted temperature blanket

12. Sweater out of this blue fabric

13. Shirt out of this yellow fabric

14. Shirt out of this blue strip fabric

15. Make something out of this panel I wove

16. Make something out of this panel I wove

17.Newborn hats #1: I will make newborn hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats)

18. Newborn hats #2: I will make newborn hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats)

19. Newborn hats #3: I will make newborn hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats)

20.Newborn hats #4: I will make newborn hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats)

21. Newborn hats #5: I will make newborn hats out of this yarn (2-3 hats)

These next items are on my list to make this quarter, but I haven't started them
21. Running Zebra - Paper pieced - Have the pattern and fabrics will be pulled as I go from my stash.
22. Zebra Head- Have the pattern and the fabrics will be pulled as I go from my stash.

24. Giraffe - Violet Craft - I have the pattern and fabrics (Cherrywood of course) all ready to go, but am waiting till I finish the Elephant to start this one.

25. Mountains - Violet Craft - I bought the pattern this summer when in the Seattle area and can't wait to make this one.  It may even get finished before the Giraffe.  Can you tell I am really liking Violet Craft's patterns.

There is a glimmer of hope that these will get done this quarter….if I try really hard:

26. Grandmother's Flower Garden (Queen) - This is my ongoing handwork project.  I think I still have quite a few more to make.

27. Pixelated Wolf Quilt - I still really like this wolf, but it is slow moving due to the number of triangles per row, and not having a place to lay the whole thing out.

And that is another long quarter list….but here in the Midwest it is becoming Fall and Winter soon.  That means less yard work and more time in the house.  School is also back in session which means I will need something to do while my son is at Cub Scouts.  I think the newborn hats would be a perfect to-go project, as I can easily stop and go, if the Den leader needs my help.

Can't wait to see everyone else's lists and finishes for the remainder of 2018 (can't believe 2018 is almost over).
